I thought my last cop would be my only pair of Nike’s infamous Foamposite for a while, but I found a pair of the latest drop for a decent price. Once I saw these I was all over them. Here they are.
Shoe: Nike Air Foamposite One “Phoenix Suns”
Product Code: 314996-501
Colorway: Electro Purple/Total Orange-Black
My first pair, which I brought you just days ago, the “Fighter Jet” colorway, differ slightly from this pair. They included a military-style dog tag complete with the shoe’s endorser, Anfernee (Penny) Hardaway’s general info. They also have military aircraft lingo in certain spots on the upper. The Fighter Jet version, a premium version of the shoe, brought with it some added perks. The Phoenix Suns colorway is a standard style of the Air Foamposite One.
Opening this pair was definitely a delight. The pictures you’ll see online do this shoe no justice. While the shoe’s upper simply looks purple in images, the actual purple — Electro Purple — pops a whole hell of a lot more than you’d think. The Foamposite material on these shoes stands up to normal standards for the $225 shoe, and the color is just brilliant.
If it’s not the Electro Purple upper, what really sets this shoe off, it’s the accents and stitching on the tongue done in Total Orange. This Foamposite is like many of the more recent variants that do away with the gigantic swoosh on the side of the shoe, which I think I’m a fan of. The minimalistic swoosh on the outside of the toe box is also find in that same orange.
The sole is icy as always. The sole design is done in black this time, and the Once Cent logos, on the bottom and aback the shoe are done in that same orange. The carbon fiber design on the arch of the shoe is done in black and a graphite color.
All in all, this is a pretty sick-looking shoe. While the Fighter Jet’s hold their own, this shoe is a bit cleaner. The next few pairs of Foamposite’s on Nike’s horizon include the all white, “White Out”, Royal Blue/Grey, and a potential follow-up Stealth-like colorway drop sometime before the end of 2013. Other than that, the next big drop has to be Jordan brand’s “He Got Game” 13’s.
